Volunteer with Global Neighbors
Your time makes a real difference. Whether you can commit to a weekly mentorship, give a ride to a doctor’s appointment, or help sort donations at the Thrift Store — there’s a way for you here.
Find your fit
You don’t have to do everything — just one of these makes a meaningful impact.
Mentor a Family
Walk alongside a New American family as they settle into life in Bismarck. Share meals, navigate appointments, and build a friendship that lasts.
Learn about the program →Give Rides
Provide transportation to medical appointments, job interviews, or the grocery store for families who don’t yet have reliable transit.
Interpret
Speak another language? We regularly need volunteers who can help bridge communication between staff, families, and community partners.
Help at Second Home
Sort donations, assist shoppers, and help stock the floor at our Thrift Store on East Broadway — open Tuesday through Saturday.
Research & Support
Help us find resources, draft communications, or support behind-the-scenes work that keeps our programs running — from wherever you are.
Advocate
Use your voice in the community. Attend meetings, share our mission, and help build the kind of North Dakota where everyone belongs.
Sign up to volunteer
One form handles all volunteer roles. Our coordinator will follow up within a few days to talk through next steps.
Volunteer Sign-Up Form
Takes about 5 minutes. You’ll be asked about availability, areas of interest, and any relevant skills or languages.
Background checks are required for mentors and drivers — we’ll walk you through that process after you apply.
After submitting, our volunteer coordinator typically reaches out within 2–3 business days.
